I ordered 2 safety selectors and received 2 different kinds? IS RRA transitioning to a new style?

We have the standard GI selector and the RRA Star selector (have had both for years).....What did you get?

The selector on the right looks like the newest version of the USGI...........

If so, it can be swapped to left handed use if you desire.

The one on the left looks like the old USGI style selector.

Going to have to check...both are standard safeties but I haven't seen the one on the right in our inventory previously.

Wow.  I learn something everyday.
They are both standard selectors, AR0104, but from two different vendors.  We used a second vendor for several batches of them, but they weren't supposed to be mixed or used within the same batches of rifles, parts kits, etc...to avoid this type of issue.  They're identical in function, just look a little different from one another.
Neither is functional as a "lefty" safety (detent positions and track between them is only on the one side of the selctor, not both).
If this is a problem for you, please contact Customer relations at 866-980-7625 and we can help resolve it for you.
Thanks.

The selector on the right looks goofy.  I've never seen a selector that looked like that on any GI gun.  I hope I don't get one on the Predator HP I have on order.

The reason there isn't paddle over the hub of a GI safety is that it would interfere with moving from semi- to auto or back from auto to safe without taking the gun off your shoulder- not a consideration for semi-auto guns but why make a part that isn't like the working for 48 years GI part for no reason?

That issue was one of the myriad of ergonomic failures people had problems with in the SCAR T&E program that led to the lack of acceptance of the SCAR.  Here it wouldn't cause the same problem, it would just look funny which isn't what people want.

It would seem to be an answer to some other problem like maybe breaking of MIM'd parts requiring a geometry modification for greater strength.
