[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Serial number question

Im curious. I have seen a few Double Star ARs with DS serial numbers. My lower has a D0 serial number.
Can you explain the change?

Two different subcontractors, they have to have totally unique serial number ranges for ATF purposes.

ahhh ok I thought you guys buy the blanks & add the numbers when you finish them
