I sent a couple of emails to customer service, but received no responses.
Question: Who is the manufacturer of the side-charging upper receiver that you use in assemblies such as this one? http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-18-rifle-length-223-wylde-1-7-15-m-lok-side-charging-upper.html Also, I bought a less-expensive side-charging upper offered last month that featured a 16" nitride-coated barrel, but that has since dropped off of your product listing. Will that product be re-introduced, or was it a one-off offering? thanks - JayC |

Palmetto State Armory. It is possible we will have some more in stock, but I cannot tell you when. Oh - you guys make the receivers yourselves? Nice. Question: what is the function of the knurled screw in the back of the receiver. I have to loosen the screw slightly for the flat spot to be facing down so that the lower can mate with the upper properly - wondering if I should put a washer or o-ring behind it, or maybe take it out all together. Does it do anything? thanks - JayC |
| To be clear, when the receiver end cap is all the way snug, it is in a "clocked" position, preventing the lower receiver from mating. In order to mate the LR, we have to unscrew the cap by 3/4 of a turn, leaving threads exposed. To confirm, this is by design then, or was it tapped incorrectly? |

The nature of threading is such that it will not be perfectly clocked unless the flat is custom cut after fitting on the upper. While that is one way to make it, we would have had to charge a lot more.
The piece is cosmetic and will not come off as described due to the flat, so it does no harm to not be tight, and an O-ring is a very economical way to keep it tight to the upper if the user desires. |
