| I saw on your website that you can easily transfer ownership of your nfa item if it is in a single shot trust. Can you explain how this works? |

Once your silencer is approved on the trust then you can contact the lawyer and talk to them about transferring the ownership of the trust. That is something that requires a lawyer. |

You may feel that way but when some one takes on the moniker of a Powered By Dealer I would assume that Silencer Shop would at least vet that place and feel that they are worthy of representing them.
But I guess that might be way off base. Then you can also throw in I was told I would get some swag for finding the bug about the web site adding sales tax to your tax stamp purchase if you added it to the cart with a one shot trust. <ya I am sure after posting this it will be in the mail when I get home LOL> Your mileage may vary But that is 2 strikes in a row as far as I am concerned, They offered to contact the powered by dealer and take care of it now maybe I misunderstood that but that's the way it looked to me. I just want my form 4 started its been almost 3 weeks and ya I know that's not a long time considering the year wait for a stamp but now its a year and 1 month. |

I don't "represent" Silencer Shop anymore than I do any of the other retailers and distributors I use. Being a "Powered By" dealer merely means the dealer has agreed to receive silencer transfers from Silencer Shop without an additional transfer fee. SS deducts a fee from the Powered By dealers price for processing the Form 4 on behalf of the dealer. Each Powered By dealer sets his own pricing on the Silencer Shop website. Typically, a buyer buys the silencer directly from Silencer Shop. After the Form 3 is approved SS ships it to your local Powered By dealer (that you chose). ATF will mail the tax stamp to the Powered By dealer, who then can transfer it to you. But you didn't buy your silencer from Silencer Shop.....you bought it from that dealer. SS allows dealers to upload their own silencer inventory information to SS, who will process the Form 4. If a dealer carries brands that SS doesn't (like SilencerCo or Dead Air) it allows the buyer to use the SS kiosk for prints, the SS photo app and use SS for processing the Form 4. The silencer never leaves your dealers store. Nothing requires a Powered By dealer to upload his inventory or utilize SS for Form 4 processing. When I sell a brand that SS doesn't carry, I just complete the Form 4 myself. But I guess that might be way off base. Your dealer is 100% at fault. He didn't upload his inventory (which is damn easy) to SS. I think you would agree that it's pretty difficult for SS to process a Form 4 on a silencer they know nothing about. I understand your frustration. From the customer stand point the serial number should have been entered at the time of sale.
In talking to the dealer he said you were told that the silencer would not be in until mid April at which point he would assign it. Also he made you aware of a severe family medial emergency that has taken him out of the shop for two weeks. We talked to the dealer yesterday and he said the serial would be assigned on Saturday. Which would allow us to file the paperwork on Monday. These extenuating circumstances are rare. We do look at dealers and make sure they are fulling their end of the contract. In this instance I'm sure you would agree that the circumstances are out of Silencer Shops and the dealers control. We also understand that the Silencer Shop name attached to a dealer carries weight. I apologize that your first experience with a Powered By dealer was not as smooth as it should have been. Thank you for finding that bug on the tax stamp it helped us tremendously. The reason that your swag pack has not gone out is because I was having a stainless tumbler engraved for you as an extra thank you. That should go in the mail today. If you have any questions were are here to help. |

Well if he told you the suppressor was not going to be in till latter he flat out lied. It was a demo they had in stock that I drove down to inspect before I purchased it. The only thing I was told was they had to enter it into the system and it was no problem if they said there was a 2 week delay for some reason I missed that part.
Thanks again for the swag and glad to find out I was in the wrong on the situations. |
