What pot are you trying to stir? 90% of the replys in that thread said they were normal.
EDIT. looked at my 20rd mags. That is where they break the sprue off after molding. All the 30rd mags have 2 of them.

Aside from that the guy said they were dated 10/12, before the real panic began.
No offense to Magpul but I've found the 30 rounders are visibly and functionally superior to the 20's.
