It is my understanding Specialized Armament specializes in Colt parts and repairs.  I visited their web site, looks good no problem.  However, I've sent them a couple e-mails about doing some work on my AR, but no reply.  Worried me alittle about doing business with these guys.  What kind of experience have other folks out there had dealing with SA.

Who did you email? Try Mark Gale, sometimes I email him late on Saturday and hear back immediately.

I e-mailed Mark.  Maybe I should try again.

They are good to go in my book.

They usually answer my e-mails promptly, but you could call them as well.

I'd call them.  Be specific with what you want, they dont usually have the time to BS ar's.

Ken is good people.

Check your spam folder.

About SAW specifically... Any work you have them do will cost you, BUT it will be done right.

Oh and a word of advise. I have made the mistake of asking Ken too many questions in the past (i.e. 2 questions.) He got pissed off that he had to deal with non-LEO scum like me and was quite rude. BUT Ken has been the only guy on the block who can get genuine Colt parts and performs perfect service on rifles and 1911's, so I always give him a free pass for not being the nicest guy in the world. In fact one of my last orders from them I threw in a bunch of crush washers, but ended up getting a bunch of peel washers. I did not bother contacting them to have it corrected for fear my dick might be electronically ripped from me by Ken via email.

Of course now that Colt has started to offer parts direct, for some things I no longer use SAW, like new BCG's.

He has whatever you need for a colt ar15 but his prices are way to high.

Pick up the phone. I have never had a problem reaching them that way.

Colt pistols are in line though, I was looking at a Gov't model on their site for $723, not too bad.

Finally got through.  Services are a little pricey, but not out of reason for what I understand is quality work and geniune Colt parts.

I wouldn't send them a dime. Their pricing is at ASS RAPE levels.

I also have had similar experience in not being able to reach anyone on the phone and had no response via two separate e-mails ??

Colt customer service also recommended calling them as they do have what you need genuine Colt parts.

I moved on at that time - maybe next time .....

I don't think their prices are that bad.  Its their shipping cost that is absolutely insane.  I've paid too much to have them ship products to the wrong address to only tell me "too bad" as a response from their CS.
Sorry, that's the same as not shipping product in my eyes.

Where can you get Colt parts for less?

They're still selling Colt BCGs for $225, $35 more than Colt charges direct from their website.

"Mileage varies depending on driver"

I have dealt with both Mark and Ken from Specialized Armament. Coincidentally, they came highly recommended by folks from Colt. Both ex-military and great people. Very trustworthy and honorable.

Usually, the best way to contact them is by phone. They run a small, quality operation. So sometimes Mark will be out bringing in the UPS shipments, in the shop or some other mundane duty and can't answer the phone. That's just how they roll.

Oh, and they will often work with you on price (within reason) and offer an LEO discount.
