When are you going to start shipping the sweet modular uppers you teased us with a while back?

I have the same question.....  But, they have been pretty busy with other projects and I am sure each one has to wait its turn.

The Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot is the second weekend in October. Sounds like a good time to have all your new product out there.

All projects are alive and well.  This last week we prototypes a new style .22 panel for the ambient upper and the new style bolt release button for the lower.  Lots of work going into these.

I get frustrated with how long these projects take also. But so does CMMG. They are probably more eager to get them out than we are to get them.
You wouldn't believe all the testing, tweaks, and changes they do to a project before it's released.
Reason is, they want it to be as close to perfect as they can possibly get it.
The Evolution started being sent out for testing nearly 2 years ago and is still being upgraded. No telling how long it was before the first thought about it.
But look at what we have. The most reliable, well made, feature full product we could want and at a price we can afford.

I think its hard for the average person to fully appreciate just how hard it is to turn an ideal into a product. Once you decide what it will look like you have to decide how to actually build it. Then you have to have the machine shop set up to mass produce the product. Once that is done you have to run samples and they test the heck out of them. Problems will always show up. What looked good on paper (now a computer screen) turns out to be more of a challenge to actually produce than you figured. Its always little details that get you. Then you have to design in for the normal variations you get in all parts, making sure that which ever side of the tolerance range the part is one it will work with all the other parts. Oh, lets not forget about making it work with all those "Mil Spec Standard" parts out there that are NOT really to spec. So many details...and the Devil is in the details!

A company wants to get a product out as fast as possible to make a return on investment yet not rush the product out before its ready. Its a constant struggle trying to find the sweet spot.

If I know the guys at CMMG they will want to make sure these parts are right before we see them in our hands. If it takes a little longer, than that is the way it goes. Look at the great .22 conversions and uppers they have made. They now pretty much rule that market. It didn't happen by accident. They put long months of work and sweat into making those things work as well as they do.

I for one am really looking forward to the modular uppers. I love things I can play with and t week, making it different. Can't wait guys.....Get er done!
