I just got my stripped upper today and assembled it. It's a nice piece of hardware. But the front takedown pin is a BITCH to get in. Not sure if the pin itself is the issue or the hole on the upper. My PSA upper was fine and and LaRue upper is fine on a different lower, so I'm assuming it's the new upper. Seems like it's a fraction too narrow cause I can see scraping on the bottom of the pin itself. Would it be safe to file a little bit from the hole in the upper? I know that you want things to be tight and snug between the upper and lower, but this might be pushing it. Just thought I'd ask here before proceeding. Thanks. |

Quoted: Before you do this, wet the pin real good and use a delrin punch to knock it in and out a few times. Also with the pin real wet and in, rotate the upper through it's travel. This has worked on many tight take down pins for me and it's what I try first. Also take a Q-tip and wet the inside of the hole in the upper too. I just got my stripped upper today and assembled it.
