I received a Strikefire about a week ago, and was pleased with the looks of it.  However, when mounting the scope to my flat top AR, the hollow bolt in the mount sheered off with only minimal pressure.  I have no other sight for this rifle, yet, so I found a smaller nut to temporarily attach the mount with the broken bolt.  I figured I would pick up a new mount the next time I got the chance.  But now another problem has appeared.  When charging the rifle, the vibration from the bolt makes the dot of the scope disappear for a few seconds.  I have yet to shoot the rifle with this scope, but it's not looking good so far.  Is there anyway to fix the disappearing dot problem?  I really don't want to ship off my only scope, so I'm hoping there is a way I can fix it.  I've replaced the battery, but this didn't solve the problem.

Edit: Sams advice solved my problem.  They also offered to send a new mount.

As far as the mount is concerned, the factory made them wrong and we will replace that for you.

I'm just going to speculate here on the dot. Possibly the spring that is on the battery cap is weak and the impact of dropping the bolt is causing the battery to temporarily slide backwards, compressing the spring, and breaking the electrical contact at the front of the battery compartment until the spring pushes it back.

I hate to have you go on a goose chase looking for a spring, but if you don't want to ship it off you could try seeing if there is a way you could either find a spring or something else to temporarily add more compressing force against the battery and then see if the dot still blinks out.

If that is the case I could send you a new battery cap. If not, we'd probably have to have it sent back for further evaluation.

Give my idea a go and if that doesn't work call us tomorrow and ask for customer service 1-800-426-0048.

Another thing to try is make sure the battery cap is tightened all the way.

You're a genius, Sam!  I removed the battery cap and stretched the spring out a bit.  This appears to have solved the problem.  Thank you very much for the quick and informative reply!

Awesome! I'm glad that it worked. Although I have to admit I didn't think of stretching the spring. Maybe it's YOU that's the genius!

Don't hesitate to ask if you need anything else.
