...lots of "where's my rifle/upper, and when am I gonna' get it?" right now.
Understandable of course, as I too am waiting for an upper that I likely won't see this year. I think the thing to remember though, is LT makes *very* desirable products which are growing in demand with each passing day leading up to the elections. They are the manufacturer, and these things must be made - which takes time. Products don't just magically appear on the shelf ready to ship. I too am in manufacturing and have to deal with the "where's my stuff" phone calls daily - sometimes hourly from certain customers. As manufacturers, we all want to get what we produce out the door as soon as possible. That's how we make our money after all, and it doesn't get billed until it ships. Most of us; however, will simply not sacrifice the quality and reputation that made our companies strong, just to get quicker shipping times to our customers. I think LT is doing the best they can, and sometimes it's just not so easy to have an answer for every status request from a customer. That is all, just sharing a quick thought or two. A.W.D. |

Order my PredaTAR in March. FFL got it last week but i wont be home to pick it up until December. Thank you both for your service and please make sure to make it back safe. A good post. There are much worse things in life than waiting on a precision rifle to be finished. Be happy for what you have. If this is the only thing you have to complain about, life is pretty damn good. |

Actually, I think far more people are upset about the lack of communication than the time it takes to get the weapon.... If we know when it will arrive, no problemo.... We wait with anticipation for it to arrive..... When you have no clue due to a lack of information, or even something remotely resembling information, we instead wait with trepidation. LT makes fantastic products, I don't have any of their weapons yet, albeit I have one on back order, but the various mounts I have work great, look great, and just plain ol' are great....
That said, for probably a dollar a gun, or less, they could hire a PR person who could relieve the trepidation and make a fine company even better at the same time....

Just a suggestion Harley..... I just know I was told 6 weeks by the dealer for my PredatAR, at 7 weeks I was told it would now be six months (after he contacted LaRue). I'm now at 6+ months waiting for the PredatOBR after changing the order from the PredatAR that I had already been waiting 5 months for at the time, with still no hint of their actually being delivered.... There was no preorder listing on the website for the PredatOBR at the time of the change in my order or I wouldn't have ordered it. If I had known this was a preorder, and that the PredatAR's were actually going to start shipping at 8 months, I wouldn't have changed my order, and would now own a fine LaRue rifle.... I even called LaRue to see if it was going to be another 6 months to wait for this new rifle and was told no...... See now why some of us are just slightly disturbed??? I can tell you right now that I will never buy another one of their guns, no matter how good they are, if it isn't already on a dealers shelf. That said, their mounts/optics are a different story as they always get them out quickly, and they keep you informed as to when to expect them. Believe me, I'm very sorry things have turned out this way....

Being told when I ordered it that it will be 14-16 weeks, then having that switched to "9 months to a year...maybe" is the problem. What happens at the end of the year and it still doesn't ship? Wait another 6 months? Another year? How long before I throw in the towel and get a competing product? What is the official release date? Is there one? Or is the release date "When it's ready?" No one knows because the company won't say. If I had been told up front that the product won't ship for a year, I probably would have done something different. So far, I've decided to wait it out because I actually thought that LaRue would finally release it. But every day there is no news. Eventually, I will chalk this up to a Masada/Colt LE1020/Shrike situation and go get a KAC or SCAR. |
