Just got one for my 17, I didn't try to put it in yet because there is a note in the instructions about possibly having to remove a bit of plastic on one side of the trigger shroud and I don't have my fine file set at home. My question is has anyone who has put one of these in a 17S had to remove any of the plastic? I know I should just be patient and wait until I unite with my file set. I started the install and took the safety out. Then I read that note and spent a about a half hour putting the safety back, what a PITA! I'd like to put it in but don't want to pull it out to remove some material and start over again. The YouTube vid takes a couple minutes, I spent almost 30 putting the safety back in

Geez!  Didn't anybody install one of these? I'm doing it tomorrow or Saturday and would like to know if anyone had to remove any plastic from the lower. I guess I'll find out then, my bro with the dremmil is bringing it in case I need it, that's why I'm waiting.

Really looking forward to shooting the SCAR with a decent trigger, the factory trigger is pretty bad.

Update ,I installed the trigger today and there was no need to remove an material from the lower. Installation was very easy, the YouTube video helped. I had watched it so many times I didn't need to watch it during the install. I did read the instructions carefully.

This went into a 17S. I measured the trigger  weight with my RCBS trigger scale before I changed the trigger out. Surprisingly, the factory trigger was only 6.5lbs. I had read so much about it being a 9lb trigger that I was surprised it came in at 6.5 The main issue with the OEM trigger is the grit and long heavy pull. The trigger does not compare to the factory triggers I've had on AR10s or a standard REPR. This defiantly effected my groups. And there was almost no take up, just a very hard press with lots of grit.

The Geisselle Super Scar trigger weighed in at about 4.5lbs. This 2lb difference may not seem worth $400, but add the clean break, short reset and the fact that although 2 stage it's feels like a very good single stage, I think it's worth it.. And at 4.5lbs it's heavy enough not to be just a bench rest trigger. This is how I think the SCAR 17S should have come from the factory. What good is a rifle this expensive if the ability to utilize 7.62 at distance is mitigated by a heavy and worse, very gritty trigger? I have AKs with much better triggers than the factory SCAR.

I'll write a separate post in this forum after I shoot it tomorrow. I wish I had someone able to answer my question, I would have installed it the day to came in and not sweated the whole material removal deal.

I'm really looking forward to getting some rounds downrange. I'm 100% sure my group will tighten up nicely.
