I just got lucky that I saw the pre-order within a couple of hours of it showing up. I'm usually the guy who buys something, then the next version is released, so it was definitely nice for that not to happen this time.
Sorry I can't offer much about the T-2 in regards to a comparison to the T-1, as I've never seen a T-1. I can say that I am very happy with the T-2. I'll miss the EOTech's large circle, but the weight loss and far better battery life make this a better fit for my 10" PDW. The EOTech will now reside on a 16" carbine. Clarity of the glass, even with the see-through protective covers, is great. I have no problem seeing background details in the dark with the T-2 on setting 5. I've already boresighted it (just a bit of elevation change more appropriate for 0-100 yds), so I can't wait to get to the range! It's definitely been worth the wait - feels almost like Christmas. Christmas would have been being able to afford three T-2's. I have Bushnell TRS-25's on two other rifles that are going to seem woefully inadequate now that I have the real deal.
