I got my upper in last week. To be honest I was hoping it would get here a whole lot sooner than it did. I had to just admire it and play with it for a few days, until my scope came in and I could get it mounted and zeroed. After it was bore sighted it took me 6 shots to get it set to my satisfaction. After I got it set I used the remaining 4 shots to shoot a group. The group was #27-30 through the rifle. The first 20 were 55gr Wolf then the rest were 45gr Remington UMC HP. I was shooting sitting on a bucket with the rifle over a patio rail too, so I'm pretty happy with the groups. I got a 1.197" group at 100yds.  And here's the rifle. Stag A2 lower RRA 24" Varmint 1:8" Nikon Buckmasters 6-18x40

Yeah, that's why I mentioned the loads and rifling. I figured if I could get 1.2" +/- groups with cheap UMC 45gr in a 1:8" barrel than I could probably get atleast 3/8-1/2 moa with some Black Hills 75gr, which is what I'm going to order soon, and a better stance. |
I haven't been on much or had the opportunity to shoot much, but I got a few boxes of ammo in a few weeks ago. I was hoping to get some Black Hills, but noone had them in stock or even knew when they might be able to get some. I had to settle with some Wolf Gold 75gr HPBT. I've only got one group through the rifle with this round. I still hoping for some better groups later, but I guess this is okay to only have 70 rounds through it. There was a bit of a breeze that I had to time though. Hopefully I'll be able to update soon when I have some better conditions. They're calling for rain all this week though and my shooting field is already flooded. Anyway here's a 10 round group at 100 yards. 1.32"
