I know everyone has a hard on for Geissele uppers right now (including myself as I own a 11.5” SBR Geissele). However, don’t discount Daniel Defense, as they brought out CHF chrome lined, high quality mid-length gas barrels to the US market long before others. Their gas port sizes are also good for suppressed use IMHO.
This is my 16” DD4V7 upper, circa 2018-19ish, mated to a BCM A5 lower (same time frame). I am running it with a Geissele SSA trigger, A5H”1.5” weight buffer (Slash heavy buffer with custom weights….I find the weight between a A5H1 and H2 to be perfect using 5.56 NATO pressure ammo, zero gas to the face), Sprinco rifle spring, Surefire RC2 5.56 suppressor. I probably have over 2500 rounds through this gun, and it also went to a carbine class. ZERO issues, almost all suppressed. The optic I currently have on it is a new S&B Short Dot Dual 1-8x in a Reptilia mount:

Attached FileWho needs a Recce rifle with a stainless barrel? I can probably tighten the group up with practice and better support (I work too damn much). Seriously though. I have zero reasons to buy another 16” AR until I burn this one out. Thanks Daniel Defense for making a great product, and I also yell kudos for your DD5V3, another A+ rifle thus far for me (pic is from a different day, and yes my set up is almost the same):
