As seen on Jerking the Trigger. I think that this would be exactly the solution I'm looking for, but the link doen't lead anywhere on the IWC website. Has this model been discontinued in favor of the Dropwing/Thorntail series? If so, are there any more rattling around 'in the back' that anyone would be willing to part with? If not, are there plans to release a version of the Dropwing (or Thorntail, I may have the names backwards––I'm talking about the direct, non-Picatinny rail attachment version) compatible with lights other than the Scout and Mini Scout?
I have all the time in the world before pulling the trigger on changing my carbine's light setup (I'm currently overseas until May) but I'm keeping my eyes open for improvements over my current X300/Daniel Defense fixed front sight configuration. The aforementioned mount seems like it would be a good solution, if it's still available. |

I emailed them with no reply,twice now. Maybe they're still busy with SHOT stuff.
Their solution for mounting a light on a TROY TRX-E is amazing, and I've trying desperately to get one. I've got cash in hand, ready to give it to them and I'm just looking for a reply. Earl at IWC emailed me

We sold out of the RADIAL light mount base, which either the M300A or M600C or a Light Ring attaches to. When we did, we thought the DROPWING would be the likely replacement and we stopped RADIAL production. We've had a number of requests for the RADIAL and since it's already programmed and capitalized, we're making more for availability in early March, 2012. Earl |

Update on the "Small Revision" IWC was making to the RADIAL... Turns out it's not so small after all...
Still cantilevered... RADIAL will accept an M300A & M600C Scout on one side.... Flip it over and the other side has a 1913 Picatinny Rail for Handgun lights like the Surefire X300, X400, Streamlight TLR Series etc... AND... it accommodates IWC's Light Mounting Ring for round Hand Held lights... We were also able to make it fit EVERY round forend now in production, like the DD MOD, Rainier Samson, etc... And the price... The same... $39.95 w/o Light Ring... $59.95 w/ Light Ring... Stay tuned for a CAD pic. These are in production next week. MOUNT-N-SLOT |

We had a delay, which is why the site shows 20 days. We were not happy with the size and shape of our first revision prototype and tweaked it to be the attached photo. These went into production today, with an estimated completion in 4 - 5 weeks.
Our new Pat. Pend. RADIAL Light MOUNT-N-SLOT. The part is reversible. On one side, it's machined to accept Surefire's M300A/M600C Scout Light. Flip it over, and it accepts Pistol Lights, like Surefire's X300. On either side, via the tapped hole, you can attach one of IWC's Light Mounting Rings for use with hand held lights, like the VTAC L4. It will attach to all round for ends, Samson, Ranier, Troy, JPI, Mega, Seekins, Etc. IWC's redesign of RADIAL add's value and utility while reducing weight and complexity. MOUNT-N-SLOT |
