First, I want to get a powered trimmer and am considering the Giraud and the Trim-It. The Giraud seems like it would require a bit less effort to set up since each caliber unit is self contained. Of course this means that getting the Giraud for the 4 calibers I currently load for is $400. The Trim-It allows different bushings to be swapped in for different calibers so that the cost for 4 calibers is roughly $200 but each caliber change requires a bit more alignment. Has anyone used either of these or both? What do you think? Is the Giraud worth twice the price?
Second, anyone loading Nosler custom competition for their tAR and tOBR? I just picked up some 175grn and 77grn to try out. Any recommended loads? What COAL are you running with these? Thanks, Bill |

If money isn't the limiting factor, I would be looking at this. Definitely on my wish list.

We carry these trimmers in our gun shop. The unique thing is they measure from the shoulder of the case. I recommend spending the extra for the carbide cutter.

What I like about it are the rails keeping the case perpendicular to the cutter. Not to mention it's a 3-way cutter. It probably doesn't amount to anything measurable, but holding the case while trimming seems like it could introduce lateral force and an uneven face on the case mouth. For me, that is what caught my eye with the Henderson. ymmv |

It's expensive but worth it. If it fits your budget, buy one and don't look back. btw - I think everyone uses a locking ring from a reloading die to keep the shell holder set. It sure makes life easier when changing from say .308 to a 6.5 variant or whatever you're trimming. |
