Though I don't really expect to get an answer from Magpul on this, has anyone modififed the QD mounts on the UBR closest to the reciever to give an ASAP like clip on point?

Yep... a few of us have done mods to the UBR for the MS2 hooks. One person did make their own metal loop, it was more SLAP like than ASAP I think.

A few individuals have crafted their own (bending around and using hardware store replacements to the screws used in the front QD cup), though there are ongoing whispers that Magpul are going to resolve this once and for all with a component of their own.  That said, anything heavy enough for me to warrant installing a UBR on it is a heavy enough rifle that I'm no longer using it as a 1pt (instead use a VCAS) and rely on the QD swivels instead.

I use a MS2 on it all the time with the QD swivel. It works fine for me and doesn't choke me on the reaction side.

You could probably take out the cups and run a zip-tie through it.

Yes; if you search my posts, you should find a picture I posted of a UBR with a metal D-ring instead of QD sockets into which I clipped my MS2.  Welded shut for strength, but that may have been overkill.

I popped out the QD adapter and used a heavy duty tie wrap.  Then took a chain link and use my MS2 to clip on to that.  So far it's survived a Magpul Dynamics training class.  I for got what I did on the inside of the stock to prevent the tie wrap joint from rotating around, but it's held solid.
