I have fallen in love with the ELW and KMR combo…
"I have plenty of AR's, and I don't need to mess around with this key mod crap" I said to myself… Wife wanted a rifle of her own, so I "built" a rifle with a complete BCM lower and bought the 14.5" ELW upper with KMR 13. Lightest, most well balanced rifle I have ever handled. Only shot it at 50yds so far, but shoots damn well. She saw how much I liked it (she's in love) and won't give it up, looks like I will have to get me one now. Honestly can't speak for the key mod system itself, I put my light at 12 o'clock and run proctor's sling so the rail is slick. But the light weight/thin feel alone makes me love it. Just posting so anyone on the fence gets a little push. |

It took 3 packs to cover most of the rail. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a213/ausher/guns/photo%20214%2020-26-23_zpsvcnphfvm.jpg Just curious, and I don't mean to hijack OP, but why cover the whole rail in them? On my rifle with how short it is, it is kind of hard not to cover it all up. I wanted just the parts my hand was at, but didn't want to cut each panel to match after cutting the specific lengths for between the scout mount and KSM (keymod sling mount), then the portion in front of the vert grip to go under it so there was no annoying gap. OP, these covers are easy to cut to fit. I used not the best tool (garden snips, they were the first thing I saw), and I'd cut longer than thought and just trimmed to fit. Gives it a more rounded feel and if you have it like I do with your grip near your gas block, it helps protect your hand.
