Anyone heard about unmarked Colt carriers?

I sold one on the EE which either came out of a 6540 or I bought on the EE (can't remember which).

Buyer doesn't think it is Colt (can't really blame him, he doesn't know me from Adam).  As I recall the carrier is unmarked, the bolt has a blob of white paint...  Can't remember what, if any, markings are on the bolt... I asked him to to check for me...  I don't want him to have a BCG that isn't genuine Colt, esp. as I sold it as a Colt BCG.

I think I remember reading that some "naked" carriers were shipped from
Colt; sound right?

Are all Colt bolts marked with at least a "C"?

Original Colt M16 carriers from the models 601, 602, 603 XM16E1, and 604 (early) are unmarked. Those are the only ones that I know of that have no markings.

I remember reading that there were some Colt Canada carriers that weren't "C" marked...

For example see the last post in this thread:

One of my Colt R6521's has a unmarked bolt carrier.
It is a half circle type, with Colt staking.

In 2005 I bought a new in box 6920 that had an unmarked bolt carrier.  At the time I remember getting twisted over it but now I could give a rip.
