Seeing as I am interested in purchasing an upper from Rock River Arms, I decided to look into the accusations that this thread is all about. It seems to me that neither Springfield Armory nor Rock River Arms have cut a deal with the Illinois government. In fact, they both have issued statements that point out that they are opposed to the Gun Dealer Licensing Act. A lobbyist group that they both give heavy donations to, Illinois Firearms Manufacturing Association, cut the deal with the Illinois government, thinking that the deal was in the best interest of its members. The following link explains this better than I can, and sites the statements from RRA and Springfield Armory presidents. https://bearingarms.com/bob-o/2017/05/01/springfield-armory-rock-river-arms-oppose-gun-dealer-licensing-act/ After reading this article I am relieved to know that RRA is opposed to the Act and I can buy the upper that best meets my specs from a company that fully supports The 2nd Amendment. |

It is very possible they are backing up now that they were caught. You would think that after 55 years on this big blue marble, and having been lied to as often as I have that I wouldn't be so naive. I will check into White Oak Armament. Hopefully they have what I am looking for, unfortunately, Windham Weaponry doesn't. Thanks for the responses to my 2 cents worth. |

With everything going on right now, I am going to put this hate train on hold. Why? Because it's time to unify and not eat our own. Yes, they screwed up royally by hiring a lobbyist with no firearm background to represent them and to give them power to act and make deals. Yes, they screwed up by not being on top of him and his actions, spending, etc. You can't put blind faith in people and expect them to do everything you want, as they have come to understand. To add a little bit of information: Since this event, RRA and SA have gone their own ways to continue to fight for gun rights. They have been working hard and spending money to undue what their lobbyist created. We can judge them on what already happened and we must also judge them on actions to make things right. This entire year is a risk because of what transpired last year and it will mean an active agenda to combat any anti gun laws. As such I encourage folks to start threads on any legislation that is moved to vote or created around this event. So that being said, for the time being I am going to lock this thread. I will ensure it is not archived and will be very open to requests to unlock it for further discussion as things calm a bit. |
