Anyone have any tips tricks for better fitment of the Vortex Defender eye piece cap? Objective fits great, the eyepiece one on a Viper PST keeps wanting to pull off, plus fits a little award because of the illumination adjustment knob.
Thanks |
| Usually what I do is just put a couple of wraps of electrical tape around the eyepiece to increase the o.d., and to add something that they grip a bit better to. That is the easiest way. One other trick is a dab of rubber cement or super glue, but of course that is a more...permanant... solution. |

Hey, just an FYI from the engineering department. 3M makes some self sealing tape that won't stick to the scope body or the cap, but just to itself. If you do a few wraps of this it will add thickness so that the cap is tighter on the eyepiece.
The nice thing about this tape is that it won't leave a messy residue on your scope or the inside of your cap. I believe our customer care department actually has some of this tape and will send it to you if you call them: 1-800-426-0048. Thanks! |

However, can you comment on why these don't work "out of the box" on your own scopes? |
