I just ordered and received a Vortex Viper PST 4-16 and it appears as though it may have been on a shelf for a few years. I heard a few places that Vortex had some issues early on with production. Can Vortex or anyone else confirm that my scope is outside of this production period. The date under the battery is 2010/2/9.

That should be well out of that production period. IIRC it was literally about 20 PSTs that were sent out that had the production issues. Anything after that was fine. Of course we will take care of anything if it happens, but I don't expect it will. Enjoy your new scope and thanks for choosing Vortex! |
