I have a Vortex G6 designed for an AR in 5.56... I want to install it on a REM 700 SPS TAC .223(16.5" Barrel) because the barrel & vortex have the same OD, but I need the lip(overhang on the AR .750 barrel) of the FH removed & squared up to contact the barrel. Barrel is factory threaded same specs as Vortex.  Do I need to send the whole thing or just the FH? How much(no need to perm install)? Thanks

I am going to have to eyeball a Vortex to see what we are actually talking about. I am thinking you just need it a little shorter, right? I will have to talk to the guys in the Shop, and get back to ya.

That correct. Just trim off & square up the back of the FH so there is more material to contact the barrel. Not sure if the threads inside would have to be lengthened also...? I can send my Vortex in or just buy another from you w/ the work done. Thanks for looking into it.
