I was waiting for the mailman all day as my IWC package was due today. Well, he finally brought my bills but not my box. I went to my computer to track the box as it was supposed to be delivered today. I figured they forgot to put the box in my mailbox which didn't surprise, but I was surprised when the doorbell rang when the mailman brought it back by. So, with the house to myself, I go happy, happy, happy to my work bench where my 1st, 2nd and 3rd builds have paused for end plates. My QD RL endplates gleam from the packaging with well-made elegance. I pick up my long awaiting Wilson Combat buffer tube and slowly, sofly insert it in the hole. |

My QD RL endplates cleam from the packaging with well-made elegance. I pick up my long waiting Wilson Combat buffer tube and slowly, sofly insert it in the hole. Bummer! We made the end plates to the MIl-Spec. They do fit very close, to the ID of the hole, the placement & height & width of the tab. We did this so people won't have to align the buffer / stock with receiver. We've heard some of the VLTOR ones may be tight, and now yours are. You can massage the tab in height and use some bluing on it. Or return themmm and we'll credit your total cost. |
| The problem does seem to be at the tab but I was not sure that if I reshaped it that the plate would then fit as it didn't appear likely. For what its worth, the Wilson Combat plate had to be teased on too, but it did go on knocking the edges of the threads along the keyway as it did. I don't want to have to return, but since I have three for my three WC tubes, I'll experiment with one and see what I think about the other two. |
| It took a lot less filing than I thought it would. I filed the stud barely more than enough to make an even, square white on the three inside-the-ring sides (no filing on back or front faces). I reblued with a cold blue product that I hope was adequate. Now, if it doesn't rust in the future, I'm good to go. I was a little apprehensive about altering my new stuff, but on the other hand, I kinda like smithin'. |

And what would the time frame be for a return if it does not fit? |
