Whats the difference between the CMV 4150 MPI upper and the Hammer forged one just to the left of it? Is the HF one good to go? This is my first build.

pretty sure the barrel is way better on the hammer forged, being that it has twice-thick chrome lining and better heat dissipation.

Hammer forged rifling  is formed by hammering the blank on a mandrel. Standard barrels are cut rifled. Both are made from the same material.

Either will last you forever.  The forged barrel is made by FN, the standard is made by Wilson.  For a regular Joe shooter the standard is just fine.  But if you want the last barrel you will ever need, then get the forged.

I will say that my 16" forged carbine is the most accurate rifle I've ever owned.  I have not shot my forged Dissy yet though.

I would go HF just bc it is FN.  Th FN barrel I got shoots fantastic.

So it is worth the extra 50 bucks is the general consensus?

Yep. At least it is to me.
But as was mentioned, either will serve you well.
I just prefer the HF and am willing to go the extra for it.
