I have a Blue label sporter lightweight which i purchased in 91. It has the two piece screw on the lower in the front. Can this be replaced with something that is not ugly!!!! Like a one piece???

Recon, your options depend on the diameter of the front pin.  If your Sporter has the large diameter pin (.312 - .315) then you are pretty much stuck with the Colt version.  If you have the standard Mil-Spec pin size (.250) then you can replace it in two ways.  You can purchase a pivot pin with the built-in detent, or you can install the Mil-Spec push pin if your lower has been drilled for the detent and spring in the mag well of the lower.  The lower can be drilled for the detent and spring, but make sure you get it done by a reputable smith such as Kurt's Kustom (on this site).
