Contacted YHM about the delay on the Diamond series. This is the response I received:
Sir, The Diamond series have taken off and are far more popular than ever expected. We are currently running 3 shifts 7 days a week and cannot keep up with the demand for our products. We are currently filling backorders to our dealers from January 2009 for the Diamond series forearms. We ship them out on a weekly basis to our dealers filling backorders. We recieve 20-50 calls a day from retail customers looking for them. Unfortunately the demand is far outstripping the supply. We have other products to make besides Diamond forearms and do not have the capacity to make everything all at once. At some point things will settle down and the suppply should catch up with the demand. Your best bet is to place a backorder with one of our dealers such as Brownells,Cheaper Than Dirt, or MidWay U.S.A.. We fill all backorders to our dealers before offering items for sale on the website so you will get a forearm quicker ordering through them.We do not accept backorders. Obviousely dealers must have there own backorders to fill for the forearms as nobody seems to have any in stock, so they have to be going somewhere. As far as blems go we have none at this point in time. Because of the election last November of the new president all things AR15 and related have been in huge demand and nobody has much of anything in stock nor can they keep items in stock. People are in panic mode for no reason and are hording items like Diamond series forearms. I do not know why, as if there is an assault weapons ban put in place it will not be on forearms and sights and such. However people are acting as if this will be the case. If you place an order with a vendor and are patient then you will recieve the forearm you want. Thanks, Tom Camilleri Sales-Tech YHM Looks like they are 6 months behind. I am currently building an Alexander 6.5 Grendel on the 18" barrel that uses the mid length gas system.
I would like to use the YHM-9395 gas block/flip up sight but am unsure of which handguard would be compatible to where the sight would be enclosed by the handguard like the one pictured below. 
Is there a diamond series forearm that this will work with? |
