I'm looking to buy(and build) a new upper using a dedicated .22 barrel from CMMG. For the life of me I can't find any barrel specs on the CMMG site. Am I to assume they are 1:16 twist?
Also I purchased an India SS conversion unit(with the grey mags) last year. I'm not so happy with the Bushmaster 1:9 twist barrel I am using so will try a dedicated .22 barrel. Since I already have a SS conversion unit when I go to order the barrel I shouldn't need to upgrade to the SS collar since I already have one I can use correct? And on top of that the barrel is really all I need correct... since I already have a conversion with all the extras? I assume the "Action" option on the barrel order is for the bolt assembly. |

What specs are you wanting?
The barrel is a 1/16 twist. 16" long. The India kit will still require a collar. You will need to replace the India's chamber adapter with a collar, preferably stainless. Quoted:

Another question or two I have about the barrels is surly the barrels do not have gas ports drilled! Which FSBs would be appropriate for use. Looking at the ones shown in the CMMG site one appears to use set screws to tighten but unsure about the other one. Pinned?
Is the light weight .22 barrel threaded for flash hider? No pic posted. I ask about the gas port because the 20" Gov Profile shows it has a rifle length gas system. Why would a .22 rim fire barrel need a gas system? |

Why would a .22 rim fire barrel need a gas system? Not sure what you are looking at but I see no mention of a rifle length gas system on the web site for the .22 |

Linky coming to Gas System description.
Here is a link And apparently they show 2 FSBs in their descriptions. One does indeed show set screw tightened... Set Screw FSB The other one doesn't say either way. If there are holes for pinning to the barrel they are on the other side...Pinned Linky Honestly I think I'd just rather use a flip up but was wondering about them being drilled or not. |
