So this....
“It [the bill] will ban the sale, the transfer, the transportation and the possession,” the California senator said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “Not retroactively, but prospectively. And it will ban the same for big clips, drums or strips of more than 10 bullets.”

So, if we have them we can keep them, but not transport them out of our homes?

Glad all my guns have magazines and not 'clips.'

Anybody for a round of two-gun?  I sure hope I am wrong on this, but I have a bad feeling.  I will continue the good fight, talk with those who will listen, send a check to the NRA and hope for the best.

Blumenthal has stated that he will be bringing gun control to the senate floor this week as well. Time for everyone to contact their reps

Makes me think about cancelling my order till this blows over... Not much use for a 1000yd gun in a 1000square foot condo if we can't transport them.

There is one thing working in gun owners favor on this...the extreme bureaucratic nebula that is Washington DC. These are the same people that can't agree on a budget, ever, nor even come to any sort of common ground on what time they should even convene in the morning.    Any bill proposed will not go through quickly, and definitely not in its original form.  Let them propose what they want.

We dont.
The welfare leech scum bucket illegal suns-of-bitches do.
Take a look at the voting demographics of CA-most of the state is pretty conservative. LA and SF screw it up for everyone.
Were just outnumbered.

There is one thing that politicians of every stripe are and that is gutless chicken shits. These were little kids who were killed. No one will want to be seen going against anything that has to do with kids. Those that have defended the 2A in the past just may fold like a cheap lawn chair and we're done. That UN treaty is out there too don't forget. They may fast track all things gun control pronto. Won't be surprised if something isn't tied to a budget deal in congress either.

Contacted my reps on saturday and expressed the need for no knee jerk reactions.

If this version of this bill were to come to reality I think I would rather dump them in the ocean than give them to the .gov

My thoughts on all the gun control talk;

It may not be the goal of most politicians to be able to control the population but I am sure somewhere in america a politician has the gears turning on how they could use this to disarm the population to complete their utopian fantasy land. To implement their vision of what america should be or they live in they create laws and policy around their reality not what is reality.

Its about control for those people hell bent on destroying america and they use the emotions of others to further their goals... its as simple as that.

In order to win we must convert or convince the emotional ones that guns are not icky and that the 2nd amendment is a good thing.

Some are so far gone you can not help them until they are mugged or experience a situation where a gun would have helped them. For others its simply a matter of a level headed discussion that makes them feel like they won the argument.

We can not give up.

We must do everything in our own way to protect the 2nd amendement because without it the others will fall. Just look at other countries were the citizens have no arms or have had their arms taken in history and that is where we will end up.

I guess I need to rent a canoe soon and go on a hunting trip.

I don't think anything will make it through congress or at least not any time soon. There is no where near the support they would need to do it. The things I think we need to be concerned about are 1) regulations from various regulatory agencies, 2) executive orders, and 3) appointment of anti-gun Supreme Court Justice (should any resign over the next 4 years).

On a positive note, there are 60 more Republicans in the House than Dems. Possible that the bill won't even make it out of the House.

You hit the nail on the head, Charlie.  King Barry has already issued several Royal Decrees that he has absolutely no right to issue, but nobody does anything about it.  His appointees just blindly obey.  Examples:  his Dream Act changes to immigration law, his allowance of waivers on the Welfare Reform Act which specifically prohibits any such changes, etc.  He could be drafting a Decree as we speak that would be effective immediately.

There are 3 Justices on SCOTUS that are in their 70's and could fall over tomorrow.  Two of them are conservatives who voted in our favor in the Heller case.  We won that case 5-4.  We are one heart attack away from losing everything.

Yep. That is what I kept stressing prior to the election and it continues to worry me. Everything can change if another Kagan or SotoMayor comes down the pipes.

+1, but I still don't trust our "leaders" to not pull something very shady.
I read BO and friends have been looking at re-classifying certain weapons and magazines to make it that much harder to obtain, as a backdoor strategy around congress and we all know how he likes his executive orders.

LT...Please forgive my moment of weakness in contemplating canceling my order...I am calling this week to order magazines in advance of the OBR shipping...I was told "soon" so I am having faith that it will arrive before anything is shoved down our throats.
