i have a larue lt-104 mount, and tried it out on my rail. i adjusted it so the lever hit the rail at a 45* angle. i put the scope on and took it off a few times and it started to leave little wear marks on my rail.  i thought i read that this shouldnt happen.

i am in NO way complaining. i'm 100% happy with my mount. the wear marks dont bug me one bit, i just want to make sure im not doing something wrong that will effect its return to zero, and the function of my mount..

I thought I was getting some marks on the underside of the rails on mine after a few times too, turns out it was grease and wiped off easily.

No safe queens here so marks are fine by me, not that I've noticed any permanent ones so far.

Did you try wiping those "wear marks" off with a rag and a dab of CLP?

The grease does look like bare metal....when it gets burnished into the anodized surface it can be misleading,
