I bought a Del-Ton A2 yesterday from a guy. It has a flat top on it (he had a scope). It has the 20 inch barrel. There are no sights. I see where I can buy rear sights that will fit on the flat top, but what about front sights? I like the old M-16 looking from sights. Would I need a gunsmith to put that on? Can it be put on?

Not sure if you have a rail on your hand-guards or how far they extend, but there are several options:Here are detachable front sight examples
You can get a wide range from cheapo ones from Amazon or really expensive. Flip up or fixed. If you are talking about integrated with the gas block there are plenty of options there too. Some install with allen screws- no gunsmith required.  example

Hope this helps. If you have more questions go to the AR section and the sub-menu for sights and ask, a lot of much more knowledgeable people there.

I think I am about to give up on this thing. I bought the rails and a scope. After about 50 rounds I came to the conclusion that I can adjust to the proper vertical but the horizontal is still way to the left even with the scope adjusted all the way. So, I removed the scope and bought a set of iron sights. At 25 yards i can get a good shot if I aim about 8 inches below the edge of the target. After that disappointing day (yesterday), I went home and adjusted the front sight up a few notched thinking it would bring the group up. I have not been back to the range yet. After going through, literally, over 200 rounds I am about to toss this in the river. I collect WWII rifles and they are so much more accurate than this thing is.

I just tried calling (during your working hours). Never got to talk to a human. Even the operator number was a voicemail box. Not a good first contact.

Update - I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the Del-Ton support folks got back to me. Megan & Joel were more helpful. It turns out that this gun only has the Del-Ton lower unit. No idea about the upper. I put iron sites on it, but they may be the wrong type. I will check and if that turns out to be the case, I will buy the recommended versions from Del_Ton. That will certainly eliminate that variable. This was only a $550 gun so I don't want to invest a ton more $$ into it.

But, bottom line, I can say nothing bad about the support I received.
