i have a stainless smith vortex on the way. apparently they are made from 714 steel that is 'hard on tooling.' i may want a chop from 16" to 14.5" with a pin and weld. the barrel is LW-50.

any issue with the pin and weld?

thanks.

No problem. Get a knowledgable smith to do it.

thanks, but, i would like to hear from ADCO on this as i know they don't like to work with certain materials e.g. pinning a block on a melonited barrel.

Shouldn't be a problem.

If you don't mind me asking where did you get a SS Vortex? I checked their site and didn't see one on their site.

I did a little digging and it appears that Denny's is the only dealer who has them or gets them in this case because they're out of stock right now.

OP, if you obtained your from another source, please let me know because I would like one. Thank you.
