Has there been any comparison try between the utg and pa rail? Obviously in pics it looks the same but without side by side comparison in person it is hard to know.
They are a bit heavier than I would like, but if they stay tight better than the utg I might be interested as a temporary measure to get a light on my carbine Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

No one?
Hmmm, maybe I'm destined to be the guinea pig, except I don't have a UTG set around to compare to. On that note, my M3 Multi's still kicken. A few hundred more rounds of 5.56 and a ton of 22LR this past week. On and off the rifle a few times and the mount does a pretty decent job returning to zero if you are paying attention when you put it on. A LaRue's in its future but first one for the scope since at the ranges I expect to use the dot it really won't matter if it's off by an inch or so at 100 yards, it's the quick change aspect I'm after for it but I want to know the 4-12 will not shift. |

I'm probably going to give these a try in a few weeks. But just to clarify, the issue with the UTG's is that the whole unit was made of fairly crappy materials and just worked itself loose. The screws would still be tight, but the whole unit could rotate noticeably very soon after installation. They started out well, but folks reported that it didn't take long before it just stopped holding. Some folks even had screws strip out under normal tension... Poor quality metal.
I figure with the number of folks giving these a try we'll know soon enough if the metal quality is better. |
