I'm looking to purchase my 1st suppressor.
Can you give me a quick education regarding the process. Is this what happens: 1. I order, pay, and provide information about my local SOT. 2. I wait for a form-3 approval from the BATFE. 3. Item is transferred to my local SOT. 4. I submit a form-4 and wait for BATFE approval. 5. When approved, item is transferred from my local SOT to me. Do I have two wait 2x sequentially for BATFE approval? This could take a year. |

You're right on as far as the process goes.
Fortunately, the form 3 transfers are much faster than the form 4 transfers. We've been hitting ~2 weeks for all our dealer transfers - and some have been clearing in as little as 1 week. I suspect that will bump up a bit with the holidays, but it still isn't much in the grand scheme of things. |
