I have not seen or purchased the the second carbine video, so maybe this was addressed there. How do you handle CQB or shooting while moving on multiple targets with a Designated Marksman type rifle system? I am not a Gunfighter and I am poor right now, so my weapons are less then perfect, but are the best I can do right now. I live in a very rural area and do alot of different types of hunting. The AR I generally have with me is one I built myself. 20" RRA National Match SS barrel, YHM Rifle Length Smooth Free Float, A2 stock and a Nikon 4.5-14 x40 scope in a Larue SPR mount. I have no irons at all right now, not that I could use them with out ditching the optic anyway. I understand the technique that you use with Carbines and I have ran rifle length systems in 3 gun in a similiar fashion. However with my current set up I dont feel I am getting enough control over the rifle in close quarters rapid shooting. Would you use the same technique that you use in your video with this type of weapon system or alter the technique in some way?
Second question if you were required to make a precise shot at distance from an offhand standing position. Would you stay in your stance or switch to the traditional RIflemans Standing position? Last question what type or triggers do you run in your ARs? My triggers are all stock over 6lbs with a good bit of take up and some grit. I have heard from some experts that a stock trigger is fine on a carbine and shouldnt effect your performance. I disagree and I am considering replacing my trigger with After Market single stages in the 3.5 to 4.5 lb range or having a Bill Springfield trigger job done on mine. |
