Traditionally, the rear apeture has a large and small opening. The large opening is for zeroing at 100 yards, the smaller at 300 yards. The elevation of the two apetures differ to change the zero point. Same plane apetures have the same zero point. If you are zeroed at 100 yds, both the large and small apeture will put you on with the same sight picture. |

I purchased the BUIS with the same plane from LaRue and after running it through a rifle class or two, I am discovering I am not liking the same plan apertures because they are both large than the traditional peep is. The smaller aperture on the same plane is still much bigger than the standard small aperture and makes, for me anyway, it just "off" for me visually. I don't know if is was making it more difficult in reality or if it was just my mind playing tricks on me but I had a harder time with the same plane. I think I am going to go back to a standard aperture, but YMMV. |
