I know this is going to go over like smoking in church, but....

Anyway possible that you could take apart (everyone is going to start killing me right about now) a 3x compact and let me/us see the internals?

No plans to take one apart. This has the lowest failure rate of any of our products if that is your concern. Rock solid and holds zero.
