| will the tall mounts that come with the strike fire work and co witness with a carrytop upper when mounted on a full floating rail? also will this allow enough room too still use the 2x magnifyer on a carbine? |

It should co-witness just fine. Although a lot of people will tell you that mounting an optic to a free float tube is not a good idea because the free float tube can shift and change your point of impact. As far as the doubler goes, I think it would just be a matter of how far forward it was mounted. My guess is that it would have be be fairly far forward though. What I've seen that a lot of guys do, with carry top uppers, is get one of those "Z" mounts like this one: http://swfa.com/Aimpoint-AR-15-Forward-Carry-Handle-Mount-P42376.aspx You have to use the low mount for it to co-witness, but it keeps the sight off of the free float tube. Only down side is I don't think the doubler will fit behind this setup. -Sam |

I would just mount that StrikeFire on top of the carry handle. I bought one of those goose neck mounts like shown on this page and it really bugged me having it mounted like that. I'm always looking through the iron sights in order to see the red/green dot and that kinda defeats the purpose of using a red. I VERY much prefer using one of these type of mounts so I can mount the StrikeFire on top of the carry handle. Kinda like shown below, but more compact. With mounts like this you can still use your iron sights without having to remove the StrikeFire.
