what is the difference between a single stage and a 2 stage? thanks

A normal single-stage trigger has the same tension throughout the pull to release. A two-stage trigger has two defined stages that are often adjustable. It's not like a set trigger, but think of it as a trigger that you can take up the slack very easily before that final stage where the hammer is released. Some triggers (Jewell for example) are adjustable in the length of each stage as well as the tension.
