Anyone use tripods when at the range? I got a chance to try one out the other day and found it different. Other than the "how accurate can I shoot" aspect, those who have used tripods, what else do you do with them?

Yup...use one all the time when my uncle is with us. He's got a bad arm...I'd post pics but the Tripod we used to use ain't mine...

But that's all changed now, thanks to my bud Joe_j...

I use them every once in a while.  Normally when prone wont work, standing is stupid and sitting isnt stable enough.

Rarely will I lock the rifle into the tripod adaptor, assuming I have the adaptor with me.  For me a saddle like above is easier, lighter and faster.

This picture was taken on day two of this years Steel Safari.  The rifle is an Accuracy International AX in 243.  A LaRue 171 mount holds the Atlas bi-pod on the rifle.  The rim of this canyon is 20-30 yards away and there was a rock in the way that forced you out of prone for several of the close up shots.
