| ok i have a DTA stealth recon scout in .338LM and 308. im looking to mount an S&B 5-25 by 56 PM2 which mount would work best. ideally id like to avoid the cantilevered designs as i have a rail that runs the length of the gun. and im thinking +20moa is probably the way to go at a bare minimum as the rail i believe has no cant built in. thanks in advance |

The only non-cantilever mounts are the OBR mounts which are LT111, LT112 and LT120. The 111 and 112 put the center of the scope 1.535" above the rail, and the 120 puts it 1.285" above the rail. The 111 and 120 both have no cant, the 112 has 20MOA cant. These mounts only come in 30mm or 34mm rings.
The only other mount I know of LaRue's that has cant is the LT158, but it is a cantilever design. It is also only 10MOA but it comes in 30mm, 34mm, 35mm and 1 inch rings. So the LT112 sounds like what you want if that scope has a 30mm or 34mm tube. The only other problem I can think of is going to be cheek weld vs height of the scope, and I know nothing of the platform you are wanting this for (how easy it is to add a cheek pad/rest or if it has an adjustable option). |

hey thanks for the advice. unfortunately the rifle has no provision for an adjustable cheek piece but the rail is basically on the same plane as the stock so i think i could get away with not needing one or maybe being able to make one out of some neoprene or something. my biggest concern is the 20 moa cant and the 56mm objective lens and if i would run into trouble there ya know. here is a pic of the rifle i have.
thanks again |

Did a little calculation with the dimensions with a similar scope I have in an LT111 and the one you plan on using. I figure with your scope in the LT111 the objective would sit about 8.7mm above the rail, and the drop of 20MOA over 1 foot is only 1.693mm. It would take 5 feet to drop it 8.465mm. I think the LT112 will work fine.
20MOA = 20 inches at 100 yards 1/300 * 20MOA = 0.06667 inches at 1 foot= 1.693mm drop per foot 1.693 * 5 = 8.465mm |
| LT also sells QD Rings. An S&B scope should have no rigidity problems. |
