2025 Coyote Season Summary:
There is a lot more to a coyote hunt than purely the total body count. However, I get asked about my totals and stats a lot, so the reason for this post. All these numbers are my solo hunting numbers.

This is a summary of my 2025 coyote season along with some historical numbers over the last 3 seasons:

2025 Season Totals:
524 Coyotes
47 days/nights of hunting (approximately 470 stands)
Miles Driven Coyote Hunting: 16,524
Average per day/night hunting: 11.15
Longest Shot: 567 Yards
Average Shot: 161 Yards

Killed On A Stand:
Singles: 165
Doubles: 90
Triples: 30
Quads: 12
Quints: 7
Sextets: 1

It is hard to determine exactly what sound triggered each coyote that a person kills, but here is my best guess at the stats from this season:
Prey: 206
Territorial: 99
Pup: 80
Howls: 70
Mating: 44
No Sound: 27

2023, 2024, and 2025 Combined Season Totals:
1,506 Coyotes
133 days/nights of hunting (approx. 1,330 stands)
Miles Driven Coyote Hunting: 48,353
Average per day/night hunting: 11.32
Longest Shot: 763 Yards
Average Shot: 162 Yards

Killed On A Stand:
Singles: 467
Doubles: 238
Triples: 97
Quads: 39
Quints: 17
Sextets: 4
Septets: 1

I didn't see any ACME products with any of them, so I think he wasn't part of the body count. We don't have any road runners around here, so Wile E. (Ethelbert) Coyote probably lives much further south of the areas I hunt.

I compared this to other years where I have tracked, and it seems for me to stay pretty consistent at least the prey % vs vocal %. I typically kill between 30-40% with prey sounds and the rest with various vocals. Of course the type of vocals I am using varies dramatically during different times of the year to help trigger coyotes. If I used the same sounds and sequences all season, I wouldn't kill many coyotes.
