My apple tree has got some/a lot of leaves that have a rust color/spots. Got any idea what it is and how to treat?

Pics would help.

One common cause though is cedar rust.

Did I mention pics?

I'm inclined to think cedar apple rust is more likely.  The beetles are a PIA regardless.   Put BT in the ground to kill the larva.  Set beetle traps AWAY from what want to protect and let them commit mass suicide.  I don't use chemicals, so someone else may tell you what might work.  FWIW, apples are one of the few fruit trees I have that the beetles could careless about.

For CAR, cut nearby cedars if you can.  My strain of apples are resistant so I don't do much, even let a few cedars stick around.

SEVIN dust or Spray is your only hope.

I prefer the Spray as it does not float elsewhere like your hive.

That is probably fire blight.  I always have some of it on my apple tree. It's our number one disease here in Kentucky.

CE is right.  Pics would help.

Agreed. It's probably not beetles.  They skeletonize the leaves but they don't turn them red (and then brown/wilted if it's fire blight).

I would suspect either of the diseases before the beetles.

Beetles are a pain, but I doubt that's your issue.
