| Does anyone know how Asolo boots fit compared to Danner, Merrell or Salomon? My Danner's are a 10, Merrell's 11.5 and Salomon's 11. |

Check the return policy carefully.
Asolos are great boots, and generally a bit lighter for equally constructed boots. Italians know good mountaineering/hiking boots. European boots tend to run a bit small. See if a local shoe store will measure your feet and give you the metric size as well. |

I have a 'european' foot. Narrow heal w/ normal width ball. Asolo boots fit me like a glove!
I bought a new pair of tps 535's two weeks before a 7-10 days trip -> no blisters. I was amazed and sold! I now have several pairs of Asolo. I have found the best way to buy boots is too mail order, max out the credit card and send back what doesn't fit. If you are 10, buy 9-10-11. Buy several different models / brands. I only try them on the carpet, so they are in new condition when I send them back. Put the laces back as shipped, etc. |
| I have two pairs of Asolo boots. The first are the all leather ones that REI sells, I think the 535. I bought the wider ones to fit my "big volume" feet. After being pretty impressed with the all leather model I ordered in the futigive model in the same size. The futigives fit a little looser on my size 12 W feet. Both have not given me any issue but I do no expect them to last more than a couple of years. I am hard on gear. REI tells me both of these models can be resoled. |

Try them on, don't mail order boots. Every maker uses a different last. Asolos fit my feet the best, I have narrowish feet. I always order two pairs, three if I'm not sure. One fits, two go back. Sierratradingpost.com and backcountry.com ... outstanding return, and everything, policies. |

One thing I've hard-learned from experience is that sizing is critically secondary to fit. I've sized up boots because I thought they were too small, only to find out they just didn't fit, and sizing up is never going to fix it. Last winter, I tried about 6 different pairs of La Sportiva climbing boots, at about $500 a pop. WOW what a total and absolute failure. I simply DO NOT fit La Sportiva boots, and I can size up, size down, try different models, different socks all I want, they'll still going to hurt.
Asolo and Scarpa both fit me well. I use Asolo for hiking, Scarpa for technical climbing. Great boots. |

These are the ones I'm looking at if anyone has experience with them: Asolo Moran Gore-Tex My brother does have a pair of Asolo's in 11.5 and they seem to fit me pretty well so that's likely what I will go with. |
