Just placed my first order from them for a 40 degree sleeping bag for a upcoming hike, as my 20 degree bag would definitely be too warm Anyways, I ordered that bag, and some freeze dried food for the same trip. Prices there are great, and you get 2 day air shipping free if you order over $50I placed the order at 6:30 this evening, and I got the confirmation that my 2 packages shipped at 8:15pm |

I have to avoid that place. I should filter their emails too. I was a big campmor fan, as there prices I thought were always good, but unless you order over $100 bucks it isn't worth it, then I found backcountry This is the bag I ordered, about $10 less than campmor and free 2-day shipping |

I order a lot from SteepandCheap.com, an offshoot of Backcountry, and find it has shifted the paradigm of service so much that I've cancelled orders from other retailers simply because they took too long to process and ship my order.
I don't understand why a company would take my order and then sit on it for three or four days before processing it, and then it takes a full week or more to get to my door. S&C takes my order, ships almost immediately, and it gets to my door in only two or three days- ground UPS. How do they do it? |

You must order a lot of women's clothing. I stopped looking at S&C because that's all I ever saw for sale. I'd see a post somewhere about the latest and greatest cool thing and I'd rush off to instead find women's booties on sale. That's just what doesn't sell out immediately. They have men's stuff too, but men's stuff sells so much better in the outdoor industry that it doesn't last as long as women's. |

Maybe I'll give it another shot. Seriously. WTF!!!!????!!!! I've seen (and bought) Fenix flashlights, SOG knives and hawks, trekking poles, smartwool socks, Pelican hard cases, the list goes on. I watch SaC through www.gearscan.com. If you look to the right, there are four tabs, click the one for SaC and you'll see the deals you recently missed- sometimes they come around again. www.camofire.com has deals that don't change as often and are more hunting related. www.ballisticreload.com has deals that are shooting related, but only change (at noon) once a day. The deals there are usually a bit weak, but they have been putting up Glock range bags a lot lately. |
| Backcountry is a great place to find good gear at a good price. They have an end of year discount site called departmentofgoods.com and then as others mentioned Steep & Cheap. I've ordered quite a bit from Backcountry and recently picked up a new Osprey backpack and Vasque hiking boots. |
