I have been considering adding some body armor to my preps and wanted to know what you guys thought of the current Interceptor armor?  Are there any legalities to civilian ownership of body armor?

The interceptor sucks.  Don't buy it. It'll stop a lot but its heavy, bulky and makes your whole body ache after 15 minutes.  They are probably cheap though, so in that respect they are ok.

I believe you can't be a felon, and you can't be in possession (I.E., wearing it) during the commission of a felony.  But other than that...

imo, get a good plate carrier with at least level III plates. check the arms & tactics section, down at the bottom there is a forum with lots of good reviews.

As with most things the first part to get is a concealable 3A vest, something you can Ware under a shirt and still look like joe blow. Some situations will not allow you to look like a GI, well most situations, but you can have the concealable vest.

After that get level 3 stand alone/level 4 inconjuction with 3A plates. Level 4 rated plates alone only need to stop one round of 30/06 AP to pass the certification, level 3 plates must take like 5-7 shots of 308. By getting the combo plate you pretty much assure the plate will have the ability to stop multiple rounds and be able to stop the AP if needed. Put these in a plate carrier as a second line setup as the only time you will use them is during gun play.
