Middle Latitude Auroral Activity WATCH <o:p></o:p> Issued: 20:05 UTC, 08 October 2013 <o:p></o:p></ssued:> Solar Terrestrial Dispatch <o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p></?xml:namespace> A shock front preceding a coronal mass ejection disturbance has been observed upstream of the Earth. Impact of the disturbance is expected within the next hour. Periods of auroral storming are likely to be observed during the next 6 to 18 hours. Some middle latitude regions may spot activity. Middle latitude regions near the U.S. / Canada border and somewhat south thereof may spot activity. Similarly, extreme northern regions of the U.K. and northern Europe, as well as extreme southern regions of Australia may spot periods of activity. <o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p></?xml:namespace> The near-new phase of the moon will not interfere with observations. <o:p></o:p> [div]Activity will be most easily observed near midnight.
