OK here is my question? I want a BOB/ DayPack. HurricaineAllie are going to take some day trips this summer, most likely on the train. I want something to carry water, snacks, her jacket and stuff, like her DSi. But also carry my spare mags, collapsable baton and stuff, I want to change it a little if we are going on a trip in the car or Jeep. Here I would add AR15 mags and a few other things.
I am looking at Maxedition rigs, the Pygmy Falcon II or one of the gearslingers? Anyone use them? ALso how does the hook& loop work? is one half built into the pack?

The Vulture-II Backpack is the one to get. I ran a PYGMY FALCON-II for about 6 years before a zipper broke. Maxpedition has great gear and it's tough too.  The Vulture-II has about 1200 ci. more space and a stow-able waist belt. It's more of a 3 day pack and well worth the extra cost. It has a place for a bladder and lots of molle too.

ETA: I've been using my Vulture every day since I got it last summer. No worries..

Thanks, but I want the lower profile than the 3 day packs.  That was my reasons for the pygmy, how was it when you had it? I am looking at a 24 hour bag
