Not bad tonight at all. A couple spotty stations for me but almost everyone was S9 and 6dB or better.
I counted 7 stations (6 + 1 relay) and 1 pre-net check in for 8 stations total. |

I should be around to be NC this week. Next week I won't be.
Slight chance I might be late on the reminders but definitely can make the net time. Sticking with 20M but will do the count down from 2300-2330Z on 40M and then switch to 20M, and if 20M sucks we'll move to 40M. |

I think 20M is "go" this week, it seems to be mostly outperforming 40M here.

Conditions definitely faded from 2330Z to 0030Z on 20M, but I heard everyone pretty well.
We had six stations, two were early check ins (NMBMXER, I hope your evening goes better!) One station new to both the net and Olivia as well. |

I tried to check in early with an in/out but either I doubled with someone or just didn't make it through. I sent it and walked away, just now getting back to the radio.

As a reminder I'm not around to NC tonight and we'll need a volunteer NC, or it's a free for all.

I can do it if no one else wants to try out being net control. I can't hear a number of the stations on 20m so I'll probably call the net on 40m. We can do a prop check at 1945EDT if someone feels strongly about it.

I'm also available to be NC. Likewise, 40m would probably be my preference.

Small net tonight closing at 2026ET, 4 stations including NCS.

Worked out well. We had decent thunderstorm roll through right after net.
|
|
|
I copied all but had to do the in/out as I was also involved in a local ARES exercise. My check in was performed while my whole shack was running under backup battery power.
|
|
|
I'll be present to NC this evening. Will do the usual start with 40M and then switch to 20M at 2330Z to see if conditions are good
enough for 20M. |

I'm out for tonight. My primary digital station is still packed up from a trip to MT last weekend and everything in the shack is disconnected due to some heavy lighting we had move through last night. It's anarchy around here radio-wise and I'm unlikely to get it back in order in time for the net.

|
First reminder out on 7120 KHz. There appears to be a nearby SMPS right on 7120 so I'm seeing
S3 hash. Hopefully 20M works or it's moved by net time. |

Only have one report so far and that was ghost printing, but20M is better than 40M so we'll stick with 14067.5 for tonight's net.

20M worked fine for me, I had everyone 100% though we had some reports of weak copy.
Five stations + NC tonight. |

Plan is 20M but I'll start on 40M at 2300Z as usual and switch to 20M at 2330Z for signal reports. |

Smaller net, but conditions were pretty decent on my end.
four stations + NC tonight, 100% copy on everyone, no one below S5 with S1 noise floor here. |

I'll be around to NC tonight, though I'll probably be late on the count-down, so just go straight to 14067.5;
I'm hoping I'll be back by 2330Z, but that might be tight timing. Hope whatever else you're doing is fun, NMBMXER. |

Sorry GreenDragon, I mis-entered in my net spreadsheet and got you out of order.
ETA: sounds like we had a station during testing that I didn't copy, hopefully he makes the late check ins and someone can relay. |

20M conditions were rough, didn't check 40M but I can't imagine a week away from the summer solstice they'd be any better.
We had four stations + NC tonight, with a 5th heard during testing but not copied at net time. Thanks for stopping by and hopefully the bands are better next week. Maybe the QRM from the Domino or Thor or whatever it was will be gone as well, but Olivia clearly didn't care and I had everyone 100%. |

Sorry I didn't hear you, I think the path is a little harder now that I'm further away. |

@seek2 Are you still using the vertical? I finally got around to putting
up the Icom AH-4 with a 16ft radiator. It's mast mounted at the roof eave with only two radials. i can't feasibly get any more radials and still be somewhat stealthy. I may have to go back to the OCF dipole. |
|

@KB7DX
Yes, I'm still using the DXE 43' vertical -- I took it with me when I left my last QTH. My radials are literally sitting on rock now, though. The new QTH is on a mountain ridge, but it sits below a mountain peak that's pretty much on a direct bearing to your area. Probably not a huge deal as the angle of incidence between us should be really high, but there's millions of tons of granite for any ground wave to go through. I'm not running as many radials as I did at the old QTH, it's on the to-do eventually list, I think I'm at 20 or so right now. If you want to play around with your antenna set up for local stuff, let me know, I can turn on WSPR reporting at my end for whatever band you want and you can do A/B testing for this path any time you want to. |

In theory I should be present to NC this week's net.
In practice it's highly likely I'll be shut down due to thunderstorms (or may get delayed getting to the QTH due to said storms.) AZ's monsoon season just just getting started and I got my first taste today and tomorrow (net day) is expected to be really rocking. I'll try to update my status close to net time. |
|

If it looks dicey, I can NC tonight.
|
|
|
GreenDragon, if you could, it'd be a huge help, just got back to the QTH and while there's not yet active thunder,
there's a huge black cloud parked over me that looks like it could launch a bolt at any minute and I bet it starts doing so the minute the net starts. ETA: Not two minutes after posting this I heard the first strike and it's showing < 3 miles on the lightning detector, so I'm out for sure. |

Will do. It'll be a bit sloppy tonight. I'm on a different setup with no macros typed in. Ill be working on it.
Will be on 7120 tonight, I seem to be able to hear everyone better there. 7120 |

4 check ins plus NC for a total of 5 tonight. Solid copy on all.

I am present to NC tonight, however there are thunderstorms in the forecast so we'll see how it goes.
I left the net as 7120, I'll ask for reports at 2330Z on 20M as well and decide from there, based on the sunspot number I'm thinking 20M is better but we'll see. |
|

Currently have an active thunderstorm over me, strike detector is running about 3 strikes a minute at 12 miles
and decreasing... so I may be late starting the reminders, if at all depending on storm status. ETA: now down to 1 mile so I've unplugged everything. Hopefully it passes by net time. |
|

If not, lmk and I can do NC
|
|
|
Not hearing thunder anymore and the strike finder is saying 19 miles so I'm tuning up on 40M now, will check 20M at 2345Z.
ETA... And back to hearing thunder with the strike finder saying 6 miles... I'll wait a few more minutes and decide at 2345Z but I'm leaning towards letting someone else NC, the last few days the storms have be quick and unpredictable so I doubt I can make it through the whole net. |
