Funny how timely this thread has been-twice I have seen and replied to people in GD who basically said they would just go take what they needed from the people around them. I have said in the past here-and it wasn’t a popular truth-that the Average Arfcommer would be a bigger threat than the ghetto horde in the suburbs, and it appears I was right in that prediction. |

I've found over the years that normally that's just some BS talk from people that really have no plan, definitely no preps and use it as a coping mechanism or a way to be a part of the conversation and/or be edgy. 99% of the time it's from the types that discuss what new rifle they bought but you never hear stuff like "I just went to 3 days of rifle training at X" or "man combatives class kicked my ass yesterday!". Are they a threat? Well sure they could be and circumstances could definitely make them into what they are talking about, albeit not as "Captain Dangerous" as they think they will be. I'm not a "we are the world" or "kumbaya" type, I'm going to assume anyone I don't already know in the PAW is a potential threat until proven otherwise. Does not mean they are going to get capped 400 yards out, it just means in modern culture, you really don't "know" too many people well enough for that sort of serious trust (my life in your hands type of thing). Avoiding problems as much as you can is worth the effort, some won't be able to be totally avoided however- hence why you train, PT, have like minded friends that do the same, etc. |
